►PARENT COMMUNICATION

We understand that as parents you are curious to know how your child is doing at camp, has he/she settled in,  is he/she having fun?   Constant phone calls from parents, however, can and do disrupt the flow of the camp and the rhythm that the campers settle into...in addition to often creating homesickness.  We therefore ask that parents to refrain from calling the camp directly to speak to their child, except in cases of emergency.  Although it is not required, campers will be encouraged to contact their parents once per week by one of the following available means of communication:

Phone Calls
Due to the rural nature of the camp, there is only one pay phone available for camper-use. Campers may make collect calls or purchase calling cards. Calls home may also be made using Skype® (headphones with microphones available).

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are not permitted at Swallowdale Camp. Campers who bring them will be asked to leave them in safe-keeping at the camp office. Phones will be given to campers only when needed to call home.

E-Mail
Campers will have limited access to email during their stay at camp. Campers wishing to use email must have a personal web-based email address.

>> Look for someone wearing a T-shirt similar to this, holding a sign that says
"Swallowdale Camp"

•  International Campers:
Swallowdale camp staff will meet all international campers at Toronto's Pearson International Airport. Remember, we need your flight details at least 2 weeks prior to your start date.

•  Domestic (Canadian or US) Campers :
If you have requested a transfer to or from camp, please see links below for the specific pick up times and location for your child.
