WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE CAMP?


  Laundry is done once weekly by a professional cleaning service. Clothes are picked up at camp and brought back the next day. Please supply enough clothes to last just over one week.

CLOTHING

  • T-shirts
  • Shorts
  • Long-sleeved shirts
  • Jeans or cotton pants
  • Pajamas (sleepwear) x2
  • Bathing suits
  • Sun hat
  • Socks and undergarments
  • Running shoes
  • Water shoes (for use in lake)
  • Hiking boots
  • Nice clothes suitable for a dance or banquet
  • Fun clothes or costume for wacky dress up days or dances
  • Rain jacket
  • Rain boots (optional)

 

TOILETRIES

  • Tooth brush and toothpaste
  • Comb or brush
  • Small mirror
  • Soap box and soap
  • Shampoo (non-breakable container)
  • Bath/Swim towels
  • Face towel & Washcloths
  • Mosquito repellent & Sunscreen (minimum SPF 15)          

GENERAL EQUIPMENT

  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Non-breakable water bottle
  • Knapsack/Day pack
  • Ball-point pens and notepad

Mobile phones:  Campers who bring mobile phones do so at their own risk, and will be limited to when they can use it.  Mobile phones must be kept in the camp office.  Campers are not permitted to bring or use their phones during classes, meals or any activities.  Mobile phones will be signed out only for their calling time or during excursions.  CISS/Swallowdale Camp is not responsible for lost or stolen devices.

IPads/Tablets:  the nature of our camp does not allow time for playing on devices.  We ask that campers keep all iPads and tablets at home.

* PFDs (lifejackets), paddles and other sporting equipment not listed above are provided by the camp
** Sleeping bags and pillows are provided by the camp but domestic campers may bring their own if they wish
