Welcome Campers! Get ready for a Swallowdale experience you won't soon forget...a clean, clear lake ready for swimming, sailing and windsurfing; delicious, home-style Canadian food; challenging and exciting activities; refreshing sun-soaked weather and, most importantly, the opportunity to meet and interact with other young people from every corner of the world. Campers have always made Swallowdale the fantastically unique place that it is, and we look forward to spending our summer with you. Erica & Derek
Erica Chellew and Derek Doucet have been Directors at Swallowdale Camp since 2004, and previously have working for various other CISS camp programmes since 1998. Throughout the year, Derek works at a Toronto high school teaching geography, French and physical education. He also helps to plan outdoor education adventures, and coaches basketball during the fall and winter. Erica teaches sixth grade at a Toronto school, and coaches soccer and skiing. Both of our directors share a passion for outdoor activities, family holidays and working with children. They spent 2003 in South Korea teaching kindergarten which gave them some first-hand experience understanding the shock and excitement that often accompany a trip into a new country. Erica and Derek can't wait for the summer and a new camp season to begin!
